On the 3rd May our Year 9 boys competed in the District Cup final vs Lostock Hall. With a high number of parents in attendance to watch the final it was a nervy game with both sides very competitive. Lostock Hall created the most chances in the first half but were not able to convert any after some fantastic saves by the Balshaw's shot stopper Finlay M! The score at half time was 0-0.

Balshaw's were better in the second half and started to create more chances of their own, but Lostock still continued to press well and with 20 minutes remaining they were awarded a penalty. It was down to Finlay to again keep us in the game and he managed to pull off a fantastic penalty save to keep the score at 0 - 0.  The save lifted Balshaw's further and with 15 minutes to go Harvey T managed to capitalise on a rare chance to put Balshaw's 1 - 0 up.

Lostock continued to battle but Balshaw's were resolute in their defending and managed to hold out until the final whistle to win the District Cup.

Congratulations to the following boys for representing Balshaw's so well - Finlay M (GK), Noah P, Matthew J, Sam J, Beau F, Kelvin H, Kudz G, James B, Will B, Reuben W, Josh R, Harvey T, Finley C, Rhys S, Ethan C.
